ABOUT THE EDITOR
Hi, I'm September Herrin.
I am a writer, editor, and entrepreneur.
As a freelance editor, I primarily work with indie authors, small presses, and professionals who write. I offer an array of services, for which I have over ten years' experience. I specialize in line and copy editing of fiction, and some of my favorite styles and genres include literary, weird, transgressive, gritty, dark, music, historical fiction, urban fiction, speculative, horror, thrillers, and surrealist fiction. When it comes to nonfiction, I have edited in a myriad of areas, with emphasis on mindfulness, true crime, personal development, and memoir.
As founder and editor-in-chief at the quarterly nonprofit literary magazine Weird Lit Magazine, I am honored to curate the best in short, weird fiction from across the globe. A graduate of the Certificate in Editing program at the University of Washington and former board member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, I am driven and passionate about furthering education and serving the publishing community at large.
My fiction is forthcoming or has appeared in Door Is A Jar, SORTES, The Berlin Literary Review, Jersey Devil Press, The Stray Branch, and elsewhere. My work has been supported by Arteles Creative Center and Hypatia in the Woods. I am currently working on a surrealist novel set in Desolation Sound, BC, Canada.
