FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long will it take to edit my work?

I quote times for each project individually. The best way to estimate how long an edit of your work will take is to reach out to me and get a quote.

How much does it cost?

My rates are based on those outlined by the Editorial Freelancer's Association. I quote each project individually.

A 25% nonrefundable deposit is due upfront with the remainder spread out in milestones.

I accept payment through PayPal and Venmo.

Can't I just save my money and edit my own work?

Sure! You can try, but I wouldn't recommend it. A second set of trained eyes will catch mistakes you simply cannot spot for yourself.

When it comes to putting your best work forward, I recommend hiring a professional editor, even if you select someone other than me.

How do I know you'll be a good fit for my work?

I am happy to edit the first 1000 words of your manuscript (or equivalent sample of shorter works), free of charge. In fact, I prefer doing this before signing on as we can both discover if working together is a good fit.

Do you have areas of interest or specialty?

Yes! While I'm open to most works, I'm especially interested and experienced in the following areas:

Fiction:

  • Contemporary Fiction

  • Urban Fiction

  • Horror

  • Mysteries

  • Speculative Fiction

  • Thrillers

Nonfiction:

  • Plant-based Living

  • Mindfulness

  • Hypnosis

  • Memoirs

  • Personal Development
